Nicole Ari Parker has worked in film, TV, and on stages. The actress is best known for her role as Teri (the spirited attorney) Joseph. The actress is known under her maiden name of Nikki Kodjoe. The talent she displayed in her acting was apparent from childhood. An Maryland high-school competition awarded her the top actress prize. Apart from her role in the theater and in the ballet company, she was also a part of 'The Washington Ballet Company.' She received the degree of Acting at New York University. Her first major role on screen in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a success and earned her immense admiration. Following this, she starred in movies such as "Boogie Nights Spark" as well as "Blue Streak". Her appearance on the television series Soul Food' was immensely loved. She also appeared on TV series like Second Time Around 'and Empire. Prior to that, she appeared in a number of stage productions. Parker with a strong interest in politics and is married to model/actress Boris Kodjoe. The couple has two kids.
Born in Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria from 7 years old, Contractor was a seasoned traveler who enjoyed the world and an array of cultures at a very young age. Her education was at a boarding-school in London between the ages of 7 and 9. Later, her family was relocated from London and moved to Toronto, Canada. Contractor was a successful academic in Toronto while also training as a ballerina. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts, a specialized public arts high school, where she not only danced but also studied theatre. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that acting was going to be her career. She danced for a decade. As she finished high school with a full scholarship for tuition to University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual diploma in sociology and psychology. Contractor was offered the lead character in Pericles following a brief time in University. The audition was held for the part at Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. The production she appeared in were praised by Canadian reviewers. She was given the chance to join Stratford Conservatory. It allows only eight males and four women to study classical theatre. Contractor eagerly accepted. Contractor's participation in the next season of plays was confirmed, and she received the role in Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
